Trad Climbing Courses and Adventures

Trad Climbing

In trad climbing, you place your own protection in the rock as you climb. Placing nuts, cams, slings and hexes well is an art that takes time to learn as you increase your mileage on the rock, developing your eye for protection possibilities, your skills in placing them and your judgement skills for assessing their quality.

Your course will help you to develop the skills you need to make well informed decisions and gain your independence to climb in a wide range of outdoor settings. You will learn how to read the rock for good protection placements, how to assess their reliability and how to find valuable resting positions to conserve your energy.
